We aim to ensure that your visit to Gunwharf Quays is a pleasant experience, but we recognise that for some guests with disabilities, it can be daunting to think about navigating a destination such as ours. We are here to help!
If you can’t find the information you need below, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
There are 35 accessible car parking spaces in the upper level of our car park, and we run a complimentary Shopmobility service from the Parking Information Office. There are electric scooters, powered wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs available to use. The mobility scheme is limited to use within Gunwharf Quays and you will be required to show a form of identification with your address.
Our Shopmobility service is now contact-free and must be booked prior to arrival. Please call our Parking Information team on 023 9283 6773 or email gwq.carpark@mitie.com for more information and to make a booking. The mobility service is available from 8am until 8pm, 7 days a week. The last booking of the day is at 6pm.
We kindly ask our guests to return the wheelchairs or mobility scooters to our Car Park team by 8pm.
If you suffer from dexterity issues, please contact us before arriving and we will make entry to the car park easier for you.
Additionally, we provide hands-free shopping to all guests using our Shopmobility service at no charge and a free carry-to-car service once you return to the Car Park Office.
You can also choose to have all your shopping delivered anywhere in the UK for free. Simply download the Dropit App before you collect your chosen mobility vehicle, we will then advise a promotional code to use and you will be ready to shop in no time at all.

We have lifts to take guests from the car park up in to Central Square. In addition to these, there are also lifts that provide access to the first floor and to the Vue Cinema, Hollywood Bowl and the first-floor restaurants.
We offer accessible toilets in all three of our facilities on site and provide a Changing Places room with a hoist. The toilets can be found next door to The Cornish Bakery, next door to Boots the Chemist and opposite the Spinnaker Tower. The Changing Places room is located next to the Boots the Chemist. Our Disabled toilets next to Boots the Chemist are also equipped with Baby Changing facilities.
Gunwharf Quays has taken guidance from Colostomy UK to provide stoma-friendly toilet facilities. Two of our accessible toilets have been updated to include the correct Stoma Facilities. These can be found located next to the Cornish Bakery and Boots. Each toilet now includes wall hooks, a colostomy bag shelf, a wall mirror and the correct disposal facilities.
In partnership with Portsmouth charity Enable Ability, there is a Gunwharf Quays Virtual Tour available for our guests with autism and anxiety.
Our virtual tour 'What’s it Like?' is conceived, created and tested by those living with anxiety and autism, who identified the need for this immersive technology, especially in these ever-challenging times. The tour, walkthrough videos and information videos will allow our guests an immersive experience of Gunwharf Quays whilst planning their visit and help them to feel comfortable in the knowledge that the centre is well equipped, easily navigated and an enjoyable place to visit.
