Light Up for Barnardo's | Fireworks Extravaganza

Fireworks Extravaganza | Gunwharf Quays

Our Fireworks Extravaganza will take place on Thursday 8th November 2018 and this year, we’ll be lighting up the Solent skies in aid of Barnardo’s Children’s Charity.

Hosting the evening will be the South Coast's No.1 radio station, Wave 105 who will keep us entertained with a host of hits and a live performance from a very special guest (keep your eyes on our social media pages to find out who!)

Plus, we’ll be switching on our Christmas lights and all stores will be open until 9pm to kick start Christmas shopping.

Take your place at one of the viewing points in and around the centre from 6pm to enjoy a fantastic evening of entertainment!

Text ‘GQBA99’ followed by the amount you’d like to donate - for example ‘GQBA99 £5’ - to 70070.

Visit to donate online.

The Barnardo's team will be around during the fireworks event collecting any loose change you're willing to spare for this fantastic cause.

What time does the firework display start?

As our display takes place on the Solent waters, it is very difficult to give an exact time for the display. We do, however, advise getting to the centre as early as possible to ensure you get the best view as the event is very popular!

We would also strongly advise pre-booking a table at your chosen restaurant if you plan on joining us for dinner - don't worry, there are over 30 to choose from!

How to I get to Gunwharf Quays?

Click here for full information on travelling to the centre both locally and from further afield. Don't forget to keep an eye on our Twitter feed for live travel and parking updates leading up to and during the event.

Additional Park & Ride services will also be available for the event, click here for the full timetable.

Do I need a ticket?

This is a free event therefore no tickets are required. Our aim this year is to raise as much money as possible for Barnardo's Childrens Charity, so if you enjoy the fireworks and entertainment on the night, donations are welcome!

Will I still be able to shop?

Our annual fireworks events are always very popular, therefore the centre will be particularly busy in the lead up to and during the display. But don't worry - shops will be open until 9pm on the night, giving you the chance to shop and kicking off our Christmas late night opening hours.
